Tools Needed:

• Jar with a tight lid or mixer

• Strainer

• Bowl

• Spoon

• Clean hands or spatula

Ingredients: Heavy Cream and a Pinch of salt (optional)

Adult-help steps: An adult should help open containers, supervise shaking or mixing, and help strain liquid .

Kid-safe steps: Kids can shake the jar, watch the cream change, help rise the butter, and tatse the finished butter with bread or crackers.

Learning fact: Butter is made when cream is shaken or churned until the fat separates from the liquid.
